Founded in 2004 Construction on the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at WaKeeney began May 27, 2003. The total site takes in 24.34 acres. The WaKeeney cemetery was dedicated September 10, 2004, and has in-ground burial spaces with pre-set double depth concrete crypts for 500 veterans and eligible dependents, two columbarium walls with a total of 320 cremation niches, inground cremation interments, and a scattering garden.
